Grant Huang is the director of the Cooperative Studies Program (CSP), a division within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Office of Research & Development (ORD) that specializes in the design and conduct of multisite clinical trials and large-scale epidemiological studies. He is currently leading an ORD priority initiative aimed at facilitating partnerships in clinical trials to enhance veteran access to these studies. Huang has been involved with designing and/or overseeing 100 national and international clinical studies, several of which have been published in top-tier medical journals including the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association. In addition to this work, his current interests focus on organizational performance, quality management and improving clinical trials recruitment.
Huang received his education and training from the University of California, Berkeley, the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Cornell University. In addition to his work with the VA, he serves on various boards and committees addressing priorities for the national clinical research enterprise.
