Paul Bleicher is the chief executive officer of OptumLabs, an open, collaborative research and innovation center founded by Optum and Mayo Clinic to accelerate improvements in patient care and value through clinical, policy and product innovation driven by new insights from big data. Previously, he was chief medical officer for Humedica; founder and CEO of Phase Forward; vice president of clinical affairs at Alpha-Beta Technology; and physician/investigator at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Bleicher was appointed to the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur’s Hall of Fame and recognized as one of PharmaVoice’s 100 Most Inspiring Leaders in Life Sciences. He has served as a member for the National Academy of Medicine’s Leadership Consortium for Value & Science-Driven Health Care; the editorial boards for Applied Clinical Trials and Research Practitioner; and the Massachusetts Life Sciences Leadership Council; and he served in various positions in the Drug Information Association. Bleicher earned his MD and PhD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
